Stormwater Solutions

The concepts of Low Impact Development (LID) and Green Infrastructure (GI) are the goals of all builders and municipalities, but implementation has been limited. CFS is changing this trend by providing and installing LID and GI technologies that are cost-effective, efficient, and long-lasting.

CFS is proud to introduce the next generation of post-construction BMPs, featuring infiltration, biofiltration, rainwater harvesting, permeable surfacing, and pre-treatment and filtration products. CFS has partnered with Convergent Water Technologies, Fabco Industries, Inc., PURUS NA Ecoraster Inc., Parjana, Pacific Stormwater Systems, and PaveDrain to offer state-of-the-art stormwater solutions, exclusively in the Western United States.

PERMEABLE SURFACING

Infiltration is the process by which stormwater and groundwater permeates into the soil. Using infiltration to capture or prevent stormwater runoff is the primary approach to complying with today’s stringent post-construction standards.

PaveDrain is the low-maintenance and durable solution to permeable pavements. These articulating concrete blocks allow for infiltration, storage, detention, and conveyance all in one. With its open joint design, infiltration rates can be over 1,500 inches per hour per square foot.
Ecoraster is a low-cost permeable surfacing product that can be used for roadways, trails, slope stabilization, drivable grass, and more. This low-density polyethylene (LDPE) system is manufactured from 100% recycled plastic shopping bags and comes with a 20-year manufacturer’s warranty.
HoofGrid is a high-quality, permeable ground reinforcement product that reduces mud and muck in high-traffic areas like barn flooring, livestock feeders, and horse paddocks. HoofGrid is UV-resistant, made of 100% recycled plastic, and can withstand extreme climates, both warm and cold.

STORAGE & INFILTRATION SYSTEMS

Storage and infiltration systems allow landowners and businesses to capture and store stormwater for infiltration into the soil to recharge groundwater, detention to manage the volume and flow of runoff, and/or rainwater harvesting. Water use, especially for lawns and landscaping, is being severely restricted due to the ongoing drought. Rainwater harvesting is a technique used for collecting, storing, and using rainwater for landscape irrigation and other uses.
AquaSave is an underground modular tank system designed to retain, store, and/or infiltrate stormwater. Made from recycled plastics, AquaSave has over 90% void space and can adapt to fit a variety of depth and storage requirements to make the most space-efficient and economical systems.
Cultec chambers are used for underground stormwater retention, recharging, detention, and flow control. The chambers are easy to stockpile and maneuver, can withstand AASHTO HS-25 defined traffic loads, and provide an efficient, space-saving alternative to modular wetlands.
The Energy-Passive Groundwater Recharge Product (EGRP) is a sustainable water infiltration and drainage method that allows for groundwater recharge and balanced soil moisture. The EGRP deals with runoff water at the source, cost-effectively, environmentally, and with minimal disruption.

HIGH-FLOW BIOFILTRATION SYSTEMS

Many developers turn to biofiltration to treat their stormwater runoff, but they must surrender massive land areas to accomplish modest goals. Biofiltration is a pollution control technique that uses living material to capture and biologically degrade pollutants found in stormwater runoff. CFS offers high-flow biofiltration systems with scalable footprints which can treat large volumes of stormwater, handle fast flow rates, and maintain high pollutant removal.
FocalPoint High Performance Modular Biofiltration System (HPMBS) utilizes physical, chemical, and biological mechanisms of plants, soil, and microbes to remove pollutants found in urban stormwater runoff. FocalPoint enables reduced footprints and lower installation/maintenance costs.
FocalPointEMR is a modular system that eliminates harmful metals, nutrients, TSS, oil, and grease from industrial site runoff. This system combines technologies to meet stringent water quality standards while also reducing the processing times, footprint, and cost required for treatment.
StormGarden is a TAPE GULD Approved Low Impact Design micro-bioretention system that is engineered for high flow treatment and high pollutant removal. The high flow-through rate of the engineered media results in cost savings and a much smaller footprint than traditional bioretention systems.
Evergreen BioCarbon is produced from clean, yellow pine biomass from the southeastern US and is composed of more than 80% fixed carbon. BioCarbon’s abundant internal surface area and high adsorption capacity make it an effective soil amendment or sorbent for industrial contaminants.

FILTRATION SOLUTIONS

With today’s post-construction BMP manuals and the requirements of the Industrial General Permit, stormwater filtration is now a required practice. Trash reduction BMPs are also required by many municipalities and are an easy and cost-effective way to maintain compliance with stormwater quality standards and regulations. CFS offers many pretreatment and mechanical filtration BMP products which can be adapted for various new and existing stormwater drainage systems.
Fabco offers diverse stormwater solutions that can be implemented at different points of the stormwater drainage infrastructure. Their customizable, high-quality, and cost-effective products are designed to target specific stormwater pollutants for both decentralized and centralized applications.
Using decentralized pretreatment methods, larger pollutants can be targeted in the catch basin or inlet with a variety of trash capture units and adjustable filters. CFS provides durable and cost-effective devices, including Trash Guard, Trash Interceptor, Connector Pipe Screen, and StormSack.
